CookIN Gone Wild Videos Highlight Wild Game Cuisine

Last updated on Thursday, May 2, 2013

(UNDATED) - An online video series on the Indiana DNR’s YouTube channel teaches Hoosiers how to turn wild game into fine dining entreés.

CookIN Gone Wild is available at dnr.IN.gov/fishwild/7562.htm. The site features cooking demonstration videos with Michelle Cain, a DNR wildlife information specialist and seasoned veteran of wild game cooking, and a downloadable recipe book.

"The idea is to give people more options on how to cook their wild game once they harvest it," Cain said.

The recipes at CookIN Gone Wild are fit for a five-star establishment. They include seared duck breast with citrus cranberry sauce, venison steak with blue cheese sauce, and bluegill meatloaf muffins.

Future recipes and videos will feature bluegill fish tacos and venison shepherd's pie.
