Brenda Reetz Named Chief Executive Officer At Green County General Hospital

(LINTON) - Greene County General Hospital named Brenda Reetz as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The Greene County Daily World reports, Greene County General Hospital Board of Trustees President Harry Huber made the announcement Friday afternoon. Reetz is being promoted from her current position of Chief Operating Officer, a job she started May of 2012.

Huber said the opportunity of promotion came for Reetz following the retirement of former CEO Jonas Uland. Chief Financial Officer Tim Norris has been serving in the capacity of interim CEO since Uland's retirement.

Huber said it was the up to the board to make the decision on who was best suitable for running the hospital.

"This task was accomplished by considering input from the GCGH staff, medical staff, and members of the community. The board and I are excited about our future with the unique leadership of Ms. Reetz and our current leadership team. I want to thank everyone who gave unselfishly their time and talent to make sure we made the correct decision," Huber said.

A press release issued by GCGH states through her position as COO, Reetz has demonstrated the ability to lead the hospital, and adds she is skilled at motivating teams to improve efficiency, quality and financial outcomes.

Prior to coming to GCGH, Reetz served as the Clinical Support Program Manager for Providence Medical Group. In that position she led 96 primary and specialty care clinics in Oregon with her nursing leadership.

As the new CEO of GCGH, one of Reetz many tasks will be to continue to guide the expansion and renovation of the hospital. The $7.5 million renovation is expanding the main lobby, physical therapy, pharmacy, outpatient laboratory, and radiology.

"I am excited about this opportunity to serve the hospital and my community as CEO and to continue the work that has been started over the last year. Greene County General Hospital is blessed with great employees and a very supportive community. I look forward to the opportunities ahead," Reetz said.

Reetz is a White River Valley High School graduate, and graduated from Vincennes University in 1999. She holds a bachelors degree from the ChamberlainSchool of Nursing at Oregon Health and Sciences University.

Board members were appreciative of the help of the search committee for the time devoted to finding a suitable CEO.
The search committee consisted of, Kimberly Baker, Dr. Owen Batterton, Michael Crane, Cathy Hadley, Ralph Hiatt, Tim Hale, Teresa Hutton, Ryan Irish, Dr. Pete Powers, Barbara Rollison, April Settles, and Susie Slinkard.
