Benefit For Courtney

Last updated on Friday, May 24, 2013

(BEDFORD) - Kim Johnson, who for several years has organized the annual Support Our Troops ride, is organizing a benefit for her daughter Courtney.

Courtney has cancer of the thyroid and lymph nodes.

Courtney, a single mother of three children, does not have health insurance and is not eligible for Medicaid.

Kim is putting together the June 29 fundraiser to help pay radiation therapy and medication.

The all-day event at the Bedford National Guard Armory will include a silent auction, 50/50 drawing, games, music, food and a motorcycle ride. Doors open at 9 a.m. Ride registration is from 9-11 a.m.

Riders are asked to make a $25 donation, which includes food and drinks.

Volunteers are needed to help with the fundraiser, as well as donations for the silent auction.

If you would like to help, call Kim Johnson at 583-4736. To make a donation or donate items for the silent auction, call volunteer Marilyn Crouch, 275-4300 or 797-4083.
