(BEAN BLOSSOM) - A Morgantown woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday around noon in Bean Blossom.

The Brown County Democrat reports, 71-year-old Sandra Smith, died shortly after her 2012 red Chevy car flipped into the ditch alongside State Road 135 at State Road 45.

Brown County Deputy Paul Henderson reported that according to witnesses, Smith's vehicle had been eastbound on State Road 45 when it failed to stop at the stop sign at 135 North.

It was struck by a 2004 red Ford pickup truck southbound on 135 North, driven by 67-year-old Richard Haggard of Morgantown.

Haggard was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Smith was transported to a helicopter landing zone, but died before she could be flown out.
