Two Arrested On Drug Charges

(OOLITIC) - Two people were arrested Saturday after Oolitic Deputy Marshal Bill Allen made a traffic stop because the vehicle did not have a license plate.

During the traffic stop his K-9 Shani alerted Allen there was possibledrugs in the vehicle. During a search police found more than three grams of crystal meth, under 30 grams of marijuana and several meth pipes.

41-yer-old David Austin, of Ellettsville, was charged with possession of meth over 3 grams, a Class C felony, possession of marijuana, a Class A Misdemeanor, maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony, and reckless possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

His passenger, 41-year-old Katrina Taylor, of Bloomington, was charged with possession of meth over 3 grams, a Class C felony, possession of marijuana, a Class A Misdemeanor, maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony, and reckless possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor and visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor.

Allen was assisted by Oolitic Reserve Officer Tonya Taylor and Lawrence County Officer Chris Roberts.
