Last updated on Tuesday, April 30, 2013

(WASHINGTON) - A Sunday afternoon accident at the intersection of East National Highway and State Road 57 in Washington left three people with minor injuries.

78-year-old Jose Marquez, of Washington told Washington Police Officers he was westbound on East National Highway and had a green light and entered the intersection where his 1999 Dodge Neon collided with a 2008 Chrysler Sebring driven by 23-year-old Meagon Aldrich, of Washington.

Aldrich and her passenger, 29-year-old Kelsie Merydith, of Washington, told the officers that northbound traffic had a green light.

But, according to the police report, a witness told police that she was waiting for a red light in the southbound lane of State Road 57, which means the northbound lane also had a red light.

Police say Marquez, Aldrich and Merydith all suffered minor injuries and all three were treated at the scene.
