(HELTONVILLE) - A Norman man was injured after he crashed his motorcycle Friday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 54-year-old Michael Stalcup was traveling east on Henderson Creek Road, near Humpback Bridge Road when he looked down at his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle speedometer and the next thing he knew he had driven off the roadway

Police say Stalcup attempted to correct the motorcycle and drove off the opposite side of the road, hit a ditch, flipping the bike.

When police arrived Stalcup was laying in the roadway near the ditch and being treated by a Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Department first responder.

Stalcup suffered a laceration to his forehead and complained of pain to his right side.
He was taken to IU Health Hospital for treatment.
