(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Council member Mark Mathis, says the Memorial Day Celebration at the courthouse will be May 26 from 3 pm to 6 p.m.

"We changed the hours because it was just so hot last year," Mathis says.

This year Mathis says there will be a reading of the Constitution.

"We will have several people participating who will be reading a part of the Constitution and we have 350 copies of the Constitution to give away," Mathis says.

There will be a number of other activities and food.

"So come out and enjoy the event and celebrate our country and those that serve and those that gave their lives to protect our freedoms," Mathis says.
