Bloomington Seeks Public Input For ImagineBloomington Process

Last updated on Monday, April 29, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Planning Department will hold a workshop to gather public input for the development of planning goals for ImagineBloomington, which is the City’s ongoing effort to update its comprehensive Growth Policies Plan.

The workshop will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on May 2 at the Monroe County Library, 303 E. Kirkwood Ave., in room 1C.

Workshop participants will be able to vote on their preferred planning options, offer suggestions and provide feedback regarding current ImagineBloomington goals. As the first of several public input opportunities, the primary purpose of this workshop is to offer participants a chance to review draft planning goals. These goals were prepared by the ImagineBloomington Steering Committee, which utilized the guidance of the recently adopted Vision Statement. The draft goals to be presented at this workshop will involve Downtown, Housing and Neighborhoods, and Land Use. Future public workshops will focus on goal development for other specific topic areas identified by the Vision Statement.

Besides attending the workshop, citizens can monitor ImagineBloomington developments at any time through the project website and social media. Thoughts and ideas can be submitted through an interactive web forum called UserVoice, as well as through an online survey, Facebook and Twitter. Connect online and learn more about ImagineBloomington at http://www.bloomington.in.gov/imaginebloomington. The Planning Department is reachable by phone at 349.3423.
