Last updated on Tuesday, April 2, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police arrested 36-year-old Kris Kiritsis, of Bloomington, on allegations that he sexually abused a 5-year-old girl. Kiritsis was arrested Thursday after a nearly-three-month investigation.

Kiritsis was taken to the Monroe County Jail facing preliminary felony charges of child molestation. Bond is set at $100,000 surety and $1,000 cash.

Kiritsis was arrested at about 2 p.m. Thursday at his home.

According to Bloomington Sgt. Joseph Crider, in early January, Indiana Department of Child Services forwarded Bloomington Police Department its investigation regarding a reported sexual abuse of a 5-year-old girl.

The child was interviewed Jan. 1 at Susie's Place, and said she had been inappropriately touched by a man she knew.

The victim also disclosed information regarding a pornographic video displayed to her.

Crider says prior to his arrest, Kritsis multiple times denied allegations of the abuse.

Police obtained a search warrant and found a computer containing pornographic materials at Kritsis home.

Kiritsis told police he did not download the pornographic materials, but it may have been his son, with whom he shared the computer. Police say Kiritsis also denied showing the materials to the girl.

Police interviewed Kiritsis' son, who also denied downloading the materials.
