Last updated on Monday, April 29, 2013

(BLOOMFIELD) - Bloomfield will host its annual town-wide yard sales and kick off the Community Farmers’ Market season on Saturday.

The Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce-sponsored yard sales will be featured in a listing in the Greene County Daily World on May 3 and a listing will be available from 7 to 8 a.m. on the south side of the courthouse square by MainSource Bank on East Spring Street.

Richland Township Fire and Rescue will host a fundraising breakfast at the fire station on Furnace Road from 6 to 9 a.m. by donation only.

It will also be the opening of the second season of the Community Farmer's Market on the courthouse square.

Organizer Joshua Riggins says the town-wide yard sale will serve as the kickoff for the weekly event, which will run from 8 a.m. to noon. The Community Farmer's Market will run each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon through the end of September on the courthouse square on South Franklin and West Spring Streets.

The market kicked off last May with six vendors and continued to grow throughout the season with a total of 22 full-time and part-time vendors signed up.

The vendors include local artists, artisans, produce and food vendors. For more information about the Community Farmer's Market, contact Riggins at bloomfieldchamberofcommerce@gmail.com or 384-4473.
