Bedford Firefighters Free 6-Year-Old Stuck In Tree

Last updated on Friday, April 5, 2013

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Fire Department firefighters freed a 6-year-old boy after he got his knee stuck between two trees Thursday.

Firefighters were called to a home in the 1900 block of Stevens Avenue at 7:21 pm.

When they arrived they found the boy stuck between the two trees.

BFD Battalion Chief Ken Teague says firefighters used a hand-held hydraulic spreader to move the trees apart and free the young boy.

Teague says the boy was not injured and the trees were not damaged.

An IU Bedford Health Hospital ambulance was on the scene and checked the boy out.

"They just had to spread the trees enough so he could get his leg out," Teague says.
