5K Walk/Run To Benefit Mitchell Teen Andrew Terrell

Last updated on Friday, April 12, 2013

(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell First Christian Church is spearheading a fundraiser for the family of Andrew Terrell, a Mitchell Junior High School student who has leukemia.

The Andrew Terrell 5K Walk/Run of Faith will be at 9 a.m. April 20. It will begin and end at Mitchell High School.

The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for students. All proceeds benefit the Terrell family. Those who register before Saturday will receive a T-shirt. Registration also is available on race day.

The course is similar to that of the Persimmon Festival 5K with one change, if all goes well. Organizers will have participants pass Terrell's house, and if he's feeling well and is home from Riley Hospital, he'll be on the front porch, allowing participants to cheer him on during the run.

It's a fun run/walk, meaning there will be no official times issued. For more information, send an email to info@mitchellfcc.com and a registration form will be sent back, or send a message to the Mitchell First Christian Church's Facebook page.
