(WASHINGTON) - More details have been obtained on a child pornography related arrest in Washington late last week.
On Friday March 1, Washington Police Officers executed a warrant and arrested 20 year old Alana McFarland of Washington.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the investigation started January 14 after police were notified that a cell phone belonging to McFarland containing pictures of alleged child pornography had been found at Shepherd Hills Apartments.
McFarland originally denied knowledge of the pictures. A day later though, McFarland went to police with her mother and admitted she had used the phone to visit pornographic websites, but denied knowing how the pictures were downloaded to her phone.
McFarland's mother then told officers that her daughter had previously downloaded child porn but deleted those photos after learning they were illegal.
McFarland was charged with child pornography and child solicitation and is being held in the Security Center on $7,500 bond.
