Last updated on Tuesday, March 5, 2013

(MARTIN COUNTY) - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that U.S. 231 in Martin County will undergo resurfacing this year.

Beginning on or after March 18, crews will begin work activities along U.S. 231 between U.S. 50 in Loogootee and S.R. 58 in Farlen.

During construction flag personnel will be used to control traffic through the work zone, however, drivers should anticipate delays.

The $1.8 million contract was awarded to Dave O'Mara Contractor, Inc. in November of 2012.

INDOT encourages motorists to slow down and pay special attention while traveling in work zones throughout Indiana. For the latest news and information about roadway restrictions and conditions, please visit www.in.gov/indot and www.trafficwise.in.gov .
