(BEDFORD) - Three North Lawrence Career Center students have won $2,500 scholarships to Vincennes University.
The scholarships are a result of the District SkillsUSA competition held recently at VU. To qualify for the scholarships, students must place first in their skill areas.
The winners from the NLCC were Nathan Askins in electronics technology, Fox George in architectural drafting and Thomas Nordhoff in technical drafting.
To qualify for state competition, a student must finish in the top four at the district competition. Other state qualifiers from the career center were: Logan Mounce in welding, Stephen Drake in residential wiring, Josh Johnson and Andrew Lucero-Tirey in residential plumbing, Cori Bower and William Wade in technical drafting, and Kolter Sokeland in architectural drafting.
State level competition will be held later this spring.
