Red Cross Relics Featured At Bedford Museum Of History

(BEDFORD) - In partnership with the Hoosier Hills chapter of the American Red Cross, the Lawrence County Museum of History presents the exhibit “Lawrence County’s Unique Place in Red Cross History” in the Community Gallery on the second floor of the museum through April 26.

The March meeting of the Lawrence County Historical and Genealogical Society is at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the museum meeting room. Guest speakers are Derek and Jen Richey, who will make a presentation called "Bloomington Then and Now." The speaker program begins at 7 p.m., and both the meeting and speaker program are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

On March 18, Tamara Hemmerlein of the Indiana Historical Society will be conducting a Hoosier Heritage Alliance Connecting to Collections Site Visit focused on the management and care of artifacts collections, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the museum. Topics of discussion include the handling and storage of paper objects, textiles, taxidermy and more. This event is free of charge and will include a light lunch. The Duke Energy World of Discovery is open today as well as March 16 and March 23, from 2-5 p.m. The new World of Discovery coordinator Anna Westfall began her duties on March 2. Be sure to stop by and bring the kids to see what's new. Admission to the World of Discovery and the museum is free.

The museum and the World of Discovery will be closed March 30 in observance of the Easter weekend.
