(HARRISON COUNTY) - A Palmyra woman was killed and Salem man seriously injured in a traffic accident Tuesday.

According to an Indiana State Police press release, shortly after 7:30 am, a silver 2009 Kia Spectra, driven by 22-year-old Anthony L Schlicher, from West Posey Chapel Road in Salem, was traveling west on U. S. Highway 150 near Gettlefinger Road in Harrison County when for an unknown reason the vehicle he was driving crossed the center line and struck a silver 2003 Saturn Ion driven by 45-year-old Lisa M. Wilson, from Hayes Court in Palmyra.

Police says Wilson attempted to avoid the crash, but was unable to do so.

Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Harrison County Coroner's Office.

Schlicher was taken to the University Hospital in Louisville with life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

A crash reconstruction team from the Indiana State Police is reconstructing this crash.

Harrison County Fire and E. M. S. assisted at the scene.
