(MITCHELL) - Create an edible homage to a favorite book during the Lawrence County Edible Book Contest in the Mitchell Community Public Library.
Jacqui Milliern, youth services librarian says, readers can showcase their culinary creativity and love of reading by creating 100 percent edible representations (cakes, deli displays, ice sculptures, etc.) of favorite books.
Four winners will receive gift cards for people's choice and for highest ov erall score in the three age categories: Family, unassisted teen and adult.
Entries should be submitted by 4 p.m. April 15. Winners will be announced at 6 p.m. There are no entry fees for participants or spectators.
The event is cosponsored by the Mitchell Community Public Library and the North Lawrence Career Center.
