Master Trooper Mark Raper Receives Law Enforcement Commendation Medal

(BEDFORD) - The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Daniel Guthrie Chapter awarded Master Trooper Mark Raper with their coveted “Law Enforcement Commendation Medal”.

SAR Secretary Jim Arnold said the award was presented to M/Trp. Raper in recognition of his outstanding achievement and dedication to the maintenance of law and order during his 15 years of service to the citizens of the State of Indiana.

Master Trooper Raper is a Bloomfield native and a 1983 graduate of Bloomfield High School. M/Trp Raper completed his Masters Degree from Indiana University before being hired by the Indiana State Police.

He graduated from the ISP Academy in 1997 and was assigned the Lafayette Post until transferring to the Bloomington Post in 2000

In 2006, Raper was promoted to Motor Carrier Enforcement Officer where his primary duty is the safety inspections of school buses in Central and Southern Indiana.

Raper and his wife Ranatta reside in Monroe County with their two children.
