Isabella Cross-Najafi Featured At Wiley Art Center

(BEDFORD) - The April show at The Wiley Art Center will feature artist Isabella Cross-Najafi, a 21-year-old Indiana University senior majoring in geology.

Isabella was born into a Foreign Service family and spent her childhood in three different countries in Africa, the Washington, D.C. area, the country of Georgia, and France. A lifelong artist, she studied painting in Tbilisi, Georgia as a teenager, then perfected her technique in classes at I.U.

The title of the show, "Changing Visions," describes both the development of the artist's work over time and space and her awareness of the changes coming soon as she graduates from college and begins another new chapter in her life.

The works include in the exhibit are portraits, fantasy landscapes, still lifes and other subjects, mostly rendered in oil or watercolor.

Isabella's show at The Wiley Art Center opens on Friday, March 22 with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The show ends on Saturday, April 20. Located at 1402 J Street in Bedford, the gallery is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.


Wiley Center Art Classes

Award winning artist Wyatt LeGrand will offer a series of classes in Lawrence County on Thursday evenings from 4:30 to 7:30, beginning April 25 and ending May 30.

The total cost is $220.00. To register and receive the materials list, contact Phyllis Westfall at 275-4734.

Wyatt paints in oil, but gladly accepts students who use other mediums. Beginners are welcome.

Wyatt is an award winning oil painter who uses vivid color and an impressionistic technique to create vibrant landscape, cityscape, still-life, and figurative paintings. An experienced teacher, Wyatt earned a degree in visual arts education from Indiana University and is one of the state's most promising young artists.
