Last updated on Sunday, March 10, 2013

(UNDATED) -The DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife recently honored employees Sandra Clark-Kolaks, Roger D. Hunter, Julie Kempf, Jeff Reed, Greg Rainford and Sam Molter with Awards of Excellence.

Clark-Kolaks, the south region fisheries research biologist, was honored for creating a database that keeps track of people who have participated in public events sponsored by the DFW, and for helping develop a program that expanded fishing opportunities in Indiana's cities by increasing fish stockings in urban waters. Clark-Kolaks works out of the DNR's Bloomington field office.

Hunter, a clerical assistant at the division's office in Mitchell, was honored for excellent customer service. Hunter joined DNR in 2000 after retiring as a logistical and information specialist with Crane Naval Base. Supervisors credited his good humor, patience and understanding of outdoor recreation.

Kempf, grant coordinator in the division's central office in Indianapolis, was nominated for serving on a team that bought more than 2,300 acres for state fish & wildlife areas at no cost to the state by securing federal grant dollars. Supervisors also credited Kempf for her teamwork and cooperative attitude.

Jeff Reed, property manager of Roush Fish & Wildlife Area in Huntington, was honored for developing the Little Turtle Campground, a five-site facility, that has generated significant DNR income, and for his leadership. He is also credited as being a mentor for other DNR employees.

Greg Rainford and Sam Molter shared an award for their work together as field technicians at Willow Slough FWA in Morocco. Supervisors said Rainford and Molter stepped up during a staffing cut at Willow Slough and improved the property's operations. They are also credited with mentoring new employees.
