(BEDFORD) - Dan Carpenter will move up from assistant director to director of Joint Services effective July 1.
North Lawrence school board members approved that move last week. Joint Services provides various special education programs for students from North Lawrence schools and area school systems.
Janie Jones is the current director. In another key personnel move, board members approved hiring Leslie Kimmel on a temporary contract as the North Lawrence Career Center counselor.
She will take the role held by Norm Taylor, who died suddenly in November. Kimmel will work the remainder of this year on a temporary contract, with an assessment at the end of the year to determine whether to continue.
