(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after the Indiana State Police Meth Task Force discovered meth and an active meth lab, Monday night.
Police arrested 31-year-old Derrick Pafford on charges of manufacturing meth, possession of meth, resisting law enforcement and maintaining a common nuisance. He was booked into the Lawrence County Jail at 11:25 pm.
ISP troopers, Oolitic Marshal Jon Jeffries and K-9 officer Bill Allen and Reserve Officer Jeff Franklin executed the search warrant at 1416 Breckenridge Road at 8:20 p.m.
Officers asked for the warrant after they received an anonymous tip that Pafford was making meth.
During the search officers found mixed chemicals that were used to make meth, along with a white powder that tested positive for meth.
Two children, ages 4 and 8, were also at the home.
Allen says officers alerted the Department of Child Services to assure the welfare of the children.
"None of the drugs or mixed chemicals were located inside the residence," Allen says.

Information can be as simple as strange chemical odors or other suspicions. Oftentimes, the manufacture of methamphetamine can give off odors compared to starting fluid, Coleman camp fuel, or ammonia.
