Two Oolitic Residents Arrested After Police Find Drugs

(OOLITIC) - Two people were arrested after Oolitic Town Deputy Marshal Bill Allen went to their home in the 300 block of Liberty Bell Road Wednesday night.

According to police logs, Allen went to the home at 7:35 p.m. there he found drugs.

"After a two day investigation I along with Troopers Daniel Crozier and Trooper Shea Teague, went to 325 Liberty Bell Street. There we found marijuana and meth."

Arrested were 23-year-old Jerrad Ryan and 22-year-old Tela Weldon, both who live at the home, on charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana,reckless possession of paraphernalia, possession of a legend drug and maintaining a common nuisance.

"The two adult lived in the home with their three young children, ages 3, 1 and six-months," Allen says.

Allen says Ryan was out on bond on an unrelated charge and on probation at the time of this arrest.

Both were booked into Lawrence County jail and Allen says the Department of Child Services took custody of the children.
