(SALEM) - The death of a Salem man whose body was discovered in Crown Hill Cemetery appears to have been a suicide, said Coroner Rondale Brishaber.

Stephanie Taylor Ferriell of the Leader-Democrat reports that a 911 call was placed from the cemetery around 8 p.m. Monday and city police responded, with officers arriving at 8:03 p.m.

The body of Troy Pumphrey, 22, was found hanging in a tree in the southwest corner of the cemetery, said Brishaber.

He said the case remains under investigation.

Weathers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation for the family is 4-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday.
