Mitchell School Board Approves Personnel Moves

(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell school board approved several personnel moves Monday.

Board members approved hiring:

Tammy Roberts as a speech and language pathologist for the 2013-14 school year.

Katie Grimes as a temporary first-grade teacher beginning approximately April 1 and continuing to the end of this school year. Grimes is serving in a temporary role at the North Lawrence schools, and that assignment will end about the time the Mitchell assignment starts, said Mitchell Assistant Superintendent Phillip Storm.

At Mitchell, she will fill in during the leave of Melinda Fields.

Joanne Symcox as a temporary applied skills teacher at Mitchell Junior High School starting approximately April 1 and continuing to the end of the school year. She will fill in during the leave of Crystal Goins.

The board accepted the resignation of:

Brooke Claffey, speech aide, effective Feb. 8.

For this school year, the board approved hiring:

Ed Epping as assistant varsity wrestling coach, retroactive to cover this past season.

Tyler Phillips as assistant varsity baseball coach.

Jill Simpson as junior high school boys track coach.

Anna Sullivan as junior high school girls track coach.

Kurt Ramey as junior high school golf coach.
