Man Lying In Street Arrested For Public Intoxication

(LINTON) - Officers from the Linton Police Department responded Thursday evening to a report of a man lying in a road.

Anna Rochelle, of the Greene County Daily World reports, when Patrolman Brock Garrison arrived in the area at 8:35 p.m., he found the man lying on West Vincennes Street.

He was on the north side of the roadway near the intersection of 2nd St. NW and West Vincennes. He appeared to be intoxicated.

LPD Det. Josh Goodman also responded to assist on the scene.

The man was identified as Fred William Saunders, Jr., 61, of Linton.

According to the police report, Saunders said he had fallen down. He had a small cut above his left eye.

He was transported to Greene County General Hospital to be evaluated by an emergency room physician. He allegedly tested at a .38 BAC (blood alcohol content).

After he was cleared medically and released, Saunders was transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in on a preliminary charge of public intoxication, a class B misdemeanor, with bond set at $500.
