Man Arrested After Breaking Toddler's Arm

(HARRISON COUNTY) - A former Salem man now living in Harrison County is in jail accused of abusing his girlfriend’s 1-year-old daughter.

A former Salem man now living in Harrison County is in jail accused of abusing his girlfriend's 1-year-old daughter. 25-year-old Dustin Spicer, was arrested Friday afternoon and had his first court appearance Monday.

Police say the little girl suffered a fractured left arm and bruising to her face and eye and that Spicer told them he got upset because she wouldn't be quite.

Spicer was watching the child Thursday while her mother made dinner. According to court documents, he abused the little girl inside a bedroom because she wouldn't stop crying.

The child's mother heard yelling and screaming and that is when she called police.

Harrison County's Crimes Against Children Task Force moved quickly on the case, arresting Spicer Friday afternoon.

According to court documents, Spicer told police he probably squeezed her tighter than he should have. He faces charges of aggravated battery and battery with serious bodily injury to a person less than 14 years old.
