(BEDFORD) - A Lawrence Circuit Court jury found 49-year-old Bruce Phillips, of Springville guilty Thursday afternoon.

The jury took less than two hours to deliberate. Phillip was found guilty of manufacturing meth and possession of two precursors.

Following the verdict Phillips was taken into custody by Lawrence County Police officers and taken to jail. He will remain there until his sentencing on March 5 at 10:30 a.m.

Phillips was arrested Jan. 19, 2012, after members of the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression team observed him purchase cold medicine at the Bedford Walgreens They followed him to Walmart, where he purchased starting fluid. Both items are known precursors for making meth.

Police then searched Phillips home and garage where additional precursors were found and evidence of a one-pot method meth lab. Also arrested that day was Eric Phillips, a cousin to Bruce. He pleaded guilty in June and is currently incarcerated at Branchville Correctional Facility.
