(INDIANAPOLIS) - In a report from the Indiana General Assembly, WEHT-TV in Evansville reports that Indiana lawmakers are talking about requiring moped owners to have a license and register mopeds just like automobiles.

An Indiana House committee is discussing the proposed law, which would also limit how moped owners ride, making them stay in the right lane unless they are making a left turn.

Supporters of the bill say mopeds should be treated like cars since they share the same roads. Some moped riders are against it because they don't think they can afford the cost of the insurance or registering their mopeds.

The Committee did not act on the proposal this week, but the bill's expected to be brought up again in committee as soon as next week.
