The scholarships were initiated in 1993 by the Hoosier Uplands Board of Directors to promote post-secondary education in the social services, health and education fields. This will be the 21st year for the scholarships. as of this past fall, Hoosier Uplands has presented 154 students with $195,150 in scholarship funds. the scholarships are funded in part through the Joan Cline Scholarship Fund.

The $1,300 scholarship will be awarded to a student applicant from each school who wants to pursue a career in the social services, health or education fields who exhibits a financial need.

The selection will be made by each school's scholarship committee and/or the school foundation. Seniors should inquire about the application process through their high school counselor and/or community school foundation, not Hoosier Uplands.
