(PAYNETOWN) - A Feb. 22 workshop at Monroe Lake will teach participants how to help Eastern bluebirds by providing them with a safe place to lay their eggs this spring.

At this bluebird box workshop, participants will build two bluebird nesting boxes, one to take home and another for Monroe Lake's bluebird habitat area. There will also be a short presentation about bluebird mating, nesting and brood rearing.

The event is at 6 p.m. at Paynetown State Recreation Area, in the service area.

The workshop is limited to 10 kits; participants may work individually or with a partner. The cost is $10 per kit. Registration is required by Feb. 18 at 5 p.m. by calling the Paynetown Activity Center at (812) 837-9967.

Paynetown SRA is at 4850 South State Road 446, Bloomington.
