(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Board of Works, in a special meeting Monday afternoon, approved the hiring of 29-year-old Benjamin Logan Fair, of Bedford, to the Bedford Fire Department.
Fair was hired because Battalion Chief James Pogue is retiring.
Pogue's last day will be Sunday.
Fair will be on probationary status for a year and every six months his performance will be evaluated.
