Two Arrested After Police Stop Speeding Vehicle

(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested after they drove away from Hardees early New Year’s Day.

Police received a call reporting the couple was intoxicated during the incident.

Bedford Police stopped a gold Mazda truck with a camper shell on West 16th Street. According to Police Chief Dennis Parsley, the truck was clocked on radar going 80 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone.

The driver, 33-year-old Stephanie Fleck, of Bedford, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and cited for speeding and unsafe lane change.

Her passenger, 29-year-old Caleb Godsey, of Bedford, was charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest after he refused to cooperate with officers.
