(BEDFORD) - Tryouts for travel 14U spring tackle football will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at Oolitic Middle School gymnasium.
Players should wear gym shorts, t-shirt and gym or basketball shoes. All seventh - and eighth-grade grade boys with at least one season of football experience are welcome to attend.
Players will be assessed on the three-cone drill, short shuttle, 30-yard dash, football knowledge, passing, catching and route running. There are no weight restrictions for the league, but height and weight will be recorded at tryouts.
Practice will begin in late January indoors and will move to BNL practice fields as weather permits. The season begins the first Saturday in March and ends the middle of April. All games will be played on Saturdays and a regional tournament will be conducted at the end of the season.
A one-time team fee will be required.
