Three Injured After Vehicle Flips

(MITCHELL) - Three people were injured after they tried to avoid cattle on the roadway Tuesday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 24-year-old Cody Chastain, of Bedford, was traveling north on Twin Bridge Road and had topped the hill when he noticed cattle in the roadway.

Chastain told police he attempted to swerve to miss the cattle. His 2000 Cadillac Escalade went off the east side of the road.

Chastain over-corrected and caused the vehicle to go off the west side of the roadway and hit a fence and fence post with the rear driver's side.

The vehicle then left the roadway came back onto the roadway and over turned on its top and slid down the road.

Chastain complained of head pain. A back seat passenger Tori James, complained of pain. Both Chastain and James were taken to IU Health Hospital for treatment.

Another backseat passenger, Kelsey Allbright complained of chest pain. She was taken to a local hospital by a family member.

Kevin Cessna, a front seat passenger, and Kenna Kenarley, another back seat passenger, were not injured during the incident.
