(JUDAH) - High winds hit the area early this morning. With those winds several trees were reported down.
Reports began coming into the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department just before 2 a.m.
Trees were reported down on MotoCross Road, Ind. 54, west of Ind. 58 and in the Springville area near the gym.
At 2:20 a.m. police received a call from Stan Garrison reporting his trailer had been blown off its foundation. Firefighters from Marshall Volunteer Fire Department responded to shut off the gas. Red Cross assisted with finding shelter for the family.
At 3:25 am, Duke Energy reported a total of 9,632 customers were without power throughout Indiana. In Greene County there were 121 customer without power, in Lawrence 322 and in Monroe County 2,440, Monroe County. According to a Duke representative, crews were on the scene and working to restore power.
Indiana State Police report severe damage in the town of Solsberry, in eastern Greene County.
Police say the damage occurred after a tornado warned cell hit the area around 1:45 a.m. this morning.
Around 2:30 a.m., the Greene County Sheriff's Department reported heavy structural damage to approximately 20 residences along State Road 43 between Solsberry and Hendricksville.
The damage resulted in heavy debris, including trees and power lines down and blocking the roadway. There are no reports of serious injuries.
Police closed State Road 43 between Solsberry to Hendricksville until further notice. Troopers and county deputies were on the scene providing traffic control.
At 1:45 a.m Bloomington area residents reported a tree blocking the roadway on State Road 45 at Hinds Road in southwestern Monroe County resulting in power outage in Stanford.
Also a large shed was reported in the roadway at Vernal Pike and Hartstriaght Road. Fire and Monroe County emergency crews were called to the scene.
