(BEDFORD) - Mike Mahoney, Otis Park's course manager, has stepped down to take a job in another field.

Mahoney informed Mike Mitchell, supervisor of Bedford's parks, last week of his decision and Mitchell is seeking a replacement.

Mahoney signed on with the city in 2009, nearly a year after former pro Jason Calhoun had resigned.

Mahoney's job included supervising staff, managing tournaments, and promoting golf in the community.

Mahoney says he had an opportunity come up and couldn't pass it up.

Mitchell says staff is in place to man the clubhouse until a replacement is determined.

Mitchell says they are advertising for a course manager and would like to have someone hired by mid-February.
