(COLUMBUS) - Eric Packman, of Nashville, was arrested Sunday after Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies found a working meth lab inside a disabled car he was driving on U.S. 31 and Lowell Road in Columbus.
Maj. Todd Noblitt says when a deputy found 40-year-old Packman, he learned that Packman had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Bartholomew County. Noblitt says the deputy also noticed several indicators that led him to believe that Packman was possibly involved in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Narcotics deputies responded to the scene and subsequently obtained a search warrant from Bartholomew County Superior Court II. During the execution of the search warrant, Noblitt says deputies discovered a working meth lab inside the vehicle. The type of lab, known as a one-pot or shake and bake method is extremely volatile.
The lab, Noblitt says, was dismantled by the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Clandestine Lab Unit and the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Unit.
Packman was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and on the outstanding warrant out of Bartholomew County.
