Mitchell Man Arrested After Resisting Arrest

Last updated on Saturday, January 19, 2013

(MITCHELL) - A 40-year-old Mitchell man landed in jail Thursday after battering a Mitchell Police officer who attempted to serve an arrest warrant.

Adam "Todd" England was wanted on a civil warrant for failure to appear in court out of Monroe County.

Mitchell Police Chief Mike Hardman says a concerned citizen called police at 7:24 p.m. to tell them where England was staying.

When officers tried to arrest England on the warrant, he ran. Officers were able to catch England and that is when he became combative and hit the officer. Hardman says the officer was not injured.

But now England faces more charges. Those include resisting arrest by force and battery on a police officer.
