Man Charged With Felony Sexual Misconduct With Minor

(BLOOMFIELD) - David Lee Chambers, 19, of Jacksonville, Florida, was charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, a class C felony, in Greene Circuit Court during his initial hearing on Thursday.

Anna Rochelle, of the Greene County Daily World reports, Chambers was arrested on Dec. 30 following an investigation by Sgt. Brian R. Pilant of the Jasonville Police Department.

Police received a complaint on Dec. 16, stating Chambers allegedly had sexual relations with a juvenile under the age of 16. The Greene County Child Protective Services (CPS) in to assist on the case. A CPS caseworker interviewed the juvenile, and another younger sibling.

According to a probable cause affidavit prepared by Officer Pilant, the juvenile told the caseworker Chambers allegedly touched the juvenile in an inappropriate manner.

Chambers also allegedly engaged in an unprotected sex act with the juvenile even though the juvenile kept saying no.

According to the affidavit, Chambers admitted the incident took place and told police it was a mistake, and he wished it had not happened. However, Chambers stated the juvenile never said no.

Pilant said Chambers was very cooperative during the investigation and did not cause any problems. Chambers reportedly told the officer he wanted to tell the truth.

His bond was set at $10,000 and as of early Friday, he had not posted bond and remained in jail. He was appointed a public defender and the case is set for trail on May 14.
