(BEDFORD) - Mark Reszka, whose family owns Jiffy Treet opened the doors Monday for the 2013 season.
This year marks the popular outdoor eatery's 30th year. Reszka grew up working at the family's two ice cream shops in Bedford and Ellettsville.
His father Ralph opened Bedford's Jiffy Treet on 16th Street in 1983. He opened the Ellettsville store in 1974.
The family has always closed the Bedford store down from Christmas to late January and use the time to give the staff a break and to do cleaning and maintenance, and, of course, make ice cream.
