Hometown Gospel Reunion To Help Grant Veterans Wishes

Last updated on Thursday, January 24, 2013

(BEDFORD) - A hometown Gospel Reunion, a musical celebration and fundraiser will be held Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholis Church Shamrock Center to benefit the Disabled Veterans Wish Foundation of Indiana.

The group is based in Orleans, but serves veterans all over Indiana.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and music begins at 6 p.m. The concert is free, but a love offering will be taken. The Shamrock Center is behind the church at 17th and I streets.

The Disabled Veterans Wish Foundation of Indiana is based in Orleans and grants wishes to disabled veterans. In 2012, 29 wishes were granted. All the money raised is used for granting veterans' wishes, says Bob Hughes.

In fact, Hughes' efforts to help disabled veterans recently earned him recognition by WRTV-6 in Indianapolis. The station notified Hughes that he was nominated for a Jefferson Award for Public Service.

If you can't attend the concert, but would like to support the group, donations can be sent to Disabled Veterans Wish Foundation of Indiana, P.O. Box 247, Orleans, IN 47452.
