(BICKNELL) - A family lost everything in a fire Thursday morning in Bicknell.

The call went out at 7:30 a.m. to 417 West 6th Street.

Firefighters arrived to find the fire had spread to the attic and Bicknell Fire Chief Tom Hougland says the home was destroyed.

The house was owned Steve McClure and being rented by the James Robertson family.

Robertson, his wife and 3-year-old child got out safely but lost everything in the blaze. The Red Cross is assisting the family.

Hogeland says Bicknell was assisted by the Vigo Township and Freelandville fire departments.

There were no injuries and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
