(FAYETTEVILLE) - A Lawrence County Highway employee was injured after his dump truck got stuck under a railroad trestle Wednesday afternoon.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 57-year-old Hullen Kidd was traveling north on Huron-Williams Road and was going under the railroad trestle when the bed of the dump truck collided with the trestle and got stuck, causing the dump truck to go into the air and slam down to the roadway.
The 2010 Kenworth dump truck continued to travel north, while the bed of the dump truck wedged under the trestle, causing it to break away from the truck.
Kidd suffered a facial laceration and complained of back pain. He was taken to IU Health Hospital for treatment.
Indiana Railroad was notified to inspect the trestle to determine its structural integrity. It passed inspection
Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department first responders assisted at the scene.
The dump truck was towed by Bland's Wrecker Service and the county was able to remove the dump truck bed from under the trestle.
