(UNDATE) - Attorney General Greg Zoeller recently put $19 million in unclaimed property back into the hands of central Indiana residents.
According to Zoeller, over $18.9 million in unclaimed property was returned to residents or former residents last year.
This amount along with the other regional totals, brought the overall state return to over $44.8 million last year, which exceeds 2011's amount by more than $600,000.
Last year, nearly $19 million was returned to individuals with last known addresses in central Indiana.
The Unclaimed Property database can be searched 24 hours a day, seven days a week at indianaunclaimed.com.
The Unclaimed Property Division's toll-free number is 1-866-IN-CLAIM (1-866-462-5246).
