Woman Arrested After Selling Drugs

Last updated on Friday, December 14, 2012

(BEDFORD) - 46-year-old Julie Dodds was arrested after an investigation by the Lawrence County Joint Task Force Drug Team.

Dodds has been charged with dealing a Schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance.

According to a probable cause affidavit a confidential informant bought morphine pills from Dodds on two occasions. The first time the informant bought two pills on the second they purchased five morphine tablets.

In addition to the drug charges, Dodds, in a separate and unrelated incident, faces a theft charge for allegedly stealing $38 and 36 cans of Mountain Dew from the U.S. Forest Service, on Constitution Ave., where she was a custodian.

According to a probable cause affidavit in that case, a security video from October shows Dodds breaking a window to gain entrance to the building.

Dodds told officers she accidentally locked herself out of the building while cleaning and broke the window to get back in. She says she took the money and cans of soda pop to make it look like a burglary instead of admitting she locked herself out and broke the window to get back in.
