Washington Parks Dept. Warns Residents About Visibility At Eastside Park

Last updated on Tuesday, December 11, 2012

(WASHINGTON) - Washington Parks Department Superintendent Mike McLemore would like to advise all motorists and pedestrians using Eastside Park after sunset to use extreme caution due to reduced visibility from limited lighting.

To enhance the beauty of the park's Christmas lights and displays it's a tradition to turn off street and parking lot lights, so motorists are asked to reduce their speed and be alert to pedestrians.

Also, for added safety all pedestrians are requested to stay on the sidewalks and wear light colored reflective clothing whenever possible.
