Last updated on Wednesday, December 19, 2012

(WASHINGTON) - A Washington man wanted on warrants out of Madison County was arrested by Washington Police Officers Monday afternoon.

Around 3:40 p.m. a resident of the 400 block of South East 11th Street called Washington Police reporting her ex-son-in-law, 41-year-old Kurtis Roy Gentry, had just left the home.

She told police he was wearing a camo jacket. Police were unable to find Gentry, who was wanted on two outstanding Madison County warrants.

At 4:20 p.m. a property owner came to the Police Station and reported that she believed there was someone in a vacant house she owned at 400 block of South East Sixth Street.

She told police the man had black hair and was wearing a camo jacket.

The man had broken out a rear window of the house to get in.

When Police arrived, Gentry was leaving the rear of the house. Gentry fled, attempting to evade police, but was apprehended a few minutes later in the 500 block of Center Street.

Gentry was arrested on the two Madison County warrants and local charges of resisting law enforcement and possession of marijuana.

Gentry is being held in the Daviess County Security Center.
